Airborne menace - Counter-terrorism police are looking at new technology to immobilise hostile drones mid-air in a bid to neutralising an emerging form of terror attack.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, Australian's law enforcement is considering how to keep drones away from Sydney’s landmark buildings, including Parliament House with officers keeping a close eye on how the remote-controlled technology has evolved, including models that can carry weight, like a bomb.

Late last year, Islamic State dropped a bomb from a drone over a stadium in Syria and uploaded the footage online.

Counter-terrorism authorities in Australia constantly monitor the trends in overseas terrorism in a bid to get ahead of the game before methods can be employed by home-grown jihadists.
